Masuda Funai is seeking a Legal Assistant to work in our Schaumburg office. As a vital member of our firm’s Immigration Practice Group, this position will provide high-level secretarial and administrative support to assigned attorneys and paralegals.
Location: 200 N Martingale Road in Schaumburg, IL
Schedule: Hybrid - 3 set days in office
Salary Range: $46,000- $47,500 per year plus annual bonus

Responsibilities
- Type correspondence and other legal documents, including letters, memoranda, forms, and notes from dictation or written drafts
- Proofread documents for formatting, punctuation and consistency
- Perform new client/matter intake, conflicts and records processes
- Print immigration documents for filing and send to appropriate government organization
- Maintain client files by filing all client-related information in the firm’s document management system; enter data into immigration software
- Serve as back-up to other team members, as needed
- Bachelor’s Degree in any field
- Minimum 3.0 GPA in undergraduate studies (please provide school and GPA)
- Ability to write supporting documents, reports and business correspondence
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
- Excellent business writing, editing and proofreading skills
- Strong organization, document management and prioritization skills
- Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to multi-task
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Hybrid schedule - 3 days in office
- Full-time, non-exempt position
- Monday to Friday, 9a to 5p, with 1 hour for lunch; occasional overtime
